Business Trip during the Spring Festival: Building a New Economic Bridge Together

In the festive atmosphere of the Year of the Snake in 2025, the Global Economic Development and Cooperation Promotion Association and the Sichuan Provincial Association for the Promotion of Foreign Economic Cooperation embarked on a highly significant international business exchange journey. From Almaty in Kazakhstan, to Uzbekistan, and then back to China for in-depth talks with the Austrian commercial consul, every step demonstrates the active promotion of and firm determination for the development of global economic cooperation.

On the third day of the Lunar New Year, the delegation of the promotion associations arrived in the beautiful city of Almaty, Kazakhstan. In this city full of exotic charm, they not only visited the Almaty Central Museum, which is rich in historical and cultural heritage, to experience the unique charm of Kazakhstan, but also immediately plunged into the intense business activities without delay.

The delegation of the promotion associations paid a visit to the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), which is subordinate to the Ministry of Economy of Kazakhstan. During the communication, the relevant person in charge of AIFC introduced the functions of the institution in detail and provided an in-depth interpretation of a series of policies, laying a solid foundation for the future cooperation between the two sides in the financial field. As the lifeblood of economic development, AIFC holds an important position in the regional economy and even in the global economic landscape. The relevant person in charge of AIFC stated that in the future, they are willing to continuously strengthen the connection and communication with the Global Economic Development and Cooperation Promotion Association (GEDCPA), and comprehensively enhance practical cooperation in various fields. This exchange undoubtedly built a bridge leading to win-win cooperation between the two sides.

Subsequently, the delegation of the promotion associations had an exchange with Manager Du Le of the National Investment Corporation of Kazakhstan. It is worth mentioning that the National Investment Corporation of Kazakhstan is subordinate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, and its chairman is the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on aspects such as investment opportunities and cooperation projects, opening up new ideas for promoting cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the investment field. Manager Du Le expressed a strong willingness to further strengthen communication and exchanges with the Global Economic Development and Cooperation Promotion Association (GEDCPA) in the future, maintain continuous and close contact, and deepen the bilateral dialogue mechanism. They will carry out all-round and in-depth practical cooperation in various fields such as economy and trade, science and technology, and culture, jointly explore more cooperation opportunities, and make every effort to push bilateral economic and trade exchanges to a new height, so as to build a sound development pattern featuring mutual benefit, win-win results, and collaborative progress.

After concluding their trip in Kazakhstan, the delegation of the promotion associations headed to Uzbekistan. On this ancient and vibrant land, they also carried out fruitful exchanges and cooperation. The delegation visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in Tashkent and had an in-depth communication for nearly two hours with Dr. Sobir Hasanov, the Vice Chairman, and Mr. Sulaymanov, the representative in China. As the first Chinese institution to visit Uzbekistan in the New Year, they got off to a good start.

During the communication meeting, Chairman Hasanov introduced the industrial needs and the business environment of Uzbekistan, focusing on the policies in fields such as clean energy including photovoltaic and wind power, as well as artificial intelligence. In turn, we introduced the advantages of the industrial clusters in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, the layout of the Global Economic Development and Cooperation Promotion Association, and the industrial categories of its member enterprises. The two sides also exchanged views on holding the "Global Economic Development Forum" in Central Asia in 2027. Both sides expressed their willingness to maintain continuous communication and deepen cooperation, jointly promoting bilateral economic and trade exchanges to a new height and opening a new chapter in China-Uzbekistan cooperation.

After rushing back to Chengdu from Uzbekistan, the delegation had a meeting with Ms. Birgit, the Austrian commercial consul, on the same afternoon. This meeting focused on the relevant activity procedures of the "11th Global Economic Development Forum" to be held in Austria from May 25th to 31st. Ms. Birgit, the commercial consul, inquired in detail about the brand and organizational structure of the GEDF, paid great attention to the forum, and clearly stated that she would fully support this summit. This is inseparable from the care and support of Counselor Yue of the Austrian Embassy in Beijing, Consul General Lei Junshan, and Commercial Consul Birgit Murr. Their active promotion has injected strong impetus into the economic exchanges and cooperation between China and Austria.
